The Save the Presidency!
Stop the Insanity! Campaign

[Dr. Raymond J. Noonan’s 1998 “Save the Presidency! Stop the Insanity!” Campaign was just one of several grassroots efforts opposed to the intrusion of politics into our private sexual lives, and reflected the historic outcry against how sex was being used to bring about the attempted virtual assassination of the President and the overthrow of our democratic ideals. The original text follows.]

If you are appalled by what some politicians have done to the President and the presidency, show your support for sexual sanity—display the “Save the Presidency! Stop the Insanity!” image on your Web page. We must show the partisan politicians that we support sexual sanity as the best approach to public and private life.

It’s time for those who have ever failed to live up to their own expectations in any sexual or other realm—to speak up for an end to the current hysteria about the Clinton/Lewinsky matter. In particular, it’s important to highlight and decry the abuse of power exhibited by the Starr Report and the hypocritical responses of some members of Congress and the media.
